This section shows how to use Hovermap on the Freefly Astro and Astro Max drones for aerial scans. The Astro supports Hovermap ST-X. The Astro Max supports Hovermap ST and ST-X.
Emesent Commander operates on the Freefly Pilot Pro tablet and connects to Hovermap through the Pilot Pro controller. For the supported software and firmware versions, see Supported devices and compatibility.
Setup
Start with the Freefly Astro and Astro Max setup guide. This guide gives the pre-flight checklist and the Astro parameters. Then do these procedures in this sequence:
Mount the Hovermap on the Freefly Astro: Install the dovetail mount and Hovermap on the drone.
Installing Commander on Freefly Pilot Pro tablet: Install Emesent Commander on the Pilot Pro tablet.
Setup Hovermap and Freefly Astro for basic operations: Connect Commander to Hovermap and do the initialization scan.
