Aura is the post-capture processing and analysis software used to generate, visualise, and export high-density, SLAM-corrected point clouds from Hovermap data. Operating on the supplied Getac laptop, Aura provides a controlled environment for validating, aligning, and refining scan data to ensure accurate and consistent results.
The software supports a structured workflow from raw data import through to final output generation, including visual inspection, noise reduction, and alignment using Ground Control Points (GCPs). Aura is designed to maintain data integrity and provide reliable outputs suitable for further analysis, modelling, or reporting.
Key functions include:
Noise filtering: remove stray points, moving objects, and unwanted geometry
Point cloud analysis: display, measure, and inspect processed datasets in 3D
Georeferencing: align scans to surveyed control points for high-accuracy outputs
Merging: combine multiple datasets into a single unified result
Scalability: process small or large datasets efficiently in field or office environments
