Ground control points (GCPs) are surveyed reference points with known real-world coordinates, used to align a Hovermap scan to a specific coordinate system. Applying GCPs ensures the point cloud matches the same coordinate reference as other datasets, such as survey data, mine plans, or existing site models.
This section contains the following articles:
Process scan data with Ground Control Points (GCPs). Apply GCPs during processing to georeference a scan to a known coordinate system.
Recommended display properties for GCP. Adjust the point cloud display to make GCP targets easier to identify during review.
Recommended processing settings for GCP. Refine the GCP processing settings when the default profiles do not suit the scan or the accuracy required.
Check Points. Use additional surveyed points to verify the accuracy of a GCP-aligned scan.
