Recover Hovermap scan data

Please refer to this article to Report an aircraft incident or near-miss with your Hovermap.

There are two ways to recover your Hovermap scan data:

Option 1 – direct Hovermap access

  1. Insert a USB flash drive into either of the USB ports on the Hovermap. The scan data will start copying to the USB automatically.

  2. Ensure the scan data to be downloaded is under the Web UI Current tab. If the scan data is under the Transferred tab, use the Move button to return it to the Current tab. Then go to the Current tab, press the download button, and confirm you would like to continue. While copying the scan data to your flash drive, the status LED will change to a wiping blue bar.
  3. When the data file has been copied, the status LED will return to a slow pulsing dark blue.

  4. For each flight in question, upload the entire scan folder from the USB flash drive to your file sharing platform or the link provided by the Customer Support.

Option 2 – remote Hovermap access

Scan data can be retrieved even if the Hovermap is inaccessible or the USB ports are damaged, as long as the Hovermap is still powered on:

  1. From Commander or your internet browser, navigate to the Web UI. The address is hover.map.

  2. Go to the Scans tab to find the most recent scans.

  3. For each scan listed, click the Download button to download the scan data files to the deice you're using to access the Hovermap.
  4. Download the scan at the top of the list to make sure that you get the most recent scan first.
