Updating the Emesent license dongle involves two steps. A software tool is used to collect a C2V file from your license dongle and this is sent to Emesent. After Emesent has updated your license, they will send you an updated V2C file. The same software tool is then used to apply your updated license.

Step 1: Extract C2V file from the dongle

Download the update tool RUS_RDZTO.exe.

Ensure that the Emesent Aura Software is closed.

Insert the license dongle into a Windows PC. To avoid confusion, ensure that the only license dongle inserted is the one that requires a license extension.

Open the RUS_RDZTO.exe tool.

On the Collect Status Information tab, do the following:

Select Update of existing protection key.

Click Collect Information.
Note: If the RUS tool reports that the key cannot be found, it may be locked by the Emesent Aura Software.
Confirm that the Emesent Aura Software is closed, that the key is inserted, and that the red light is on. Then click Collect Information again.If the error is still reported, reboot the computer, then restart the process from step 3.

Save the C2V file.

Close the RUS tool.

Email the C2V file to licensing@emesent.io.

Emesent will return a license extension file so that you can update the license.
Step 2: Update dongle with V2C file
- Copy the V2C file sent from Emesent to the PC.
- Insert the license dongle into to PC.
- Open the RUS_RDZTO.exe tool.

On the Apply License File tab, do the following:

In the Update File field, browse to find the V2C file (ensure the file date is the current one)

Click Apply Update.

Close the RUS tool.

Restart Emesent’s Aura software.
