Configure SIM settings

This article explains how to configure SIM settings in Commander. Use this procedure to enable mobile data connectivity on your scanner.

What you will need

  • Active SIM card with a mobile data plan

  • APN details from your mobile network provider

Contact your local Emesent reseller or Emesent directly for assistance choosing the best SIM.

Procedure

Step 1: Open Scanner Settings

  1. Open Commander and tap Options Menu on the left side of the screen.

  2. Scroll down and tap Scanner Settings to open the settings screen.

  3. Ensure the Enable Mobile Data toggle is enabled.

  4. Tap Scanner SIM Settings to open the setup screen.

Step 2: Configure APN settings

  1. Tap APN Settings to open the APN configuration screen.

  2. Enter your APN in the APN field.

  3. Select the appropriate option from the Authentication Type field.

  4. Tap Save to apply the settings.

  5. Confirm that a mobile reception icon appears in the System Indicators bar at the top of the screen.

Outcome

After completing these steps, your scanner is connected to the mobile network and able to receive RTK correction data.

Additional information (optional)

  • APN details are provided by your mobile network provider. Contact your provider if you are unsure of the correct settings.

Troubleshooting

If Scanner Settings does not appear after tapping Options Menu, your device is not connected to the GX1 Scanner. Check that the GX1 Scanner is powered on and connected before opening Commander.
