This article covers the required GoPro settings for Hero Max used with Hovermap for colorization.
Before applying these settings, complete the steps in the Colorization Initial Setup Guide, which covers pairing the camera, updating firmware, and other prerequisites.
Incorrect settings will result in unprocessable data and the scan will need to be recaptured.
We recommend configuring the settings below by creating a Custom Profile on the GoPro.
Custom Profiles can only be created on the GoPro camera itself. They cannot be added via the GoPro Quik app.
Procedure
Step 1: Select 360 Video Profile
Follow the steps below to configure your GoPro Max for colorization scans.
On GoPro
From the main capture screen, press the globe icon (bottom left) until 360 Video is selected.
From GoPro Quik app
Once connected to the GoPro, tap the globe icon (bottom right) until 360 Video is selected.
Step 2: Set Orientation Lock
On GoPro
Swipe down from the top of the touch display.
Hold the GoPro in the upright position with the record button facing upwards.
Tap the Orientation Lock button (bottom right corner).
When correctly set, the icon appears as a square with a single triangle on top.
If the icon shows a square with triangles on both the top and bottom, the orientation lock is not set correctly.
