Colorization applies real-world colour to a Hovermap point cloud using imagery captured during the scan, producing a photorealistic point cloud that is easier to interpret and share. Colours are derived from a GoPro camera mounted on the Hovermap and automatically aligned to the point cloud during processing in Aura.
The articles in this section cover the full workflow:
Introduction to Colorization. Overview of how colorization works, supported hardware, and expected results.
Colorization Initial Setup Guide. Configure the camera, mount, and Aura settings for first-time colorization.
Capturing a Scan with colorization. Run a Hovermap scan with the GoPro camera attached and synchronised.
Colorizing Point Clouds. Process the raw scan and camera footage in Aura to produce a colorized point cloud.
Create Custom Masks in Aura. Build a custom image mask to hide the operator or unwanted areas from the colorized output.
