This article explains how to calibrate the drone compass using the Mission Workflow in Emesent Commander. Use this procedure to ensure the compass is accurately calibrated before takeoff.
Compass calibration in Emesent Commander can only be started when the drone requires calibration. If calibration is required outside of the Mission Workflow, you can start it manually through DJI Pilot 2.
What you will need
DJI drone with Hovermap connected and set up
Supported tablet with Emesent Commander installed
Procedure
Step 1: Start a mission
From the Emesent Commander landing page, tap the Assisted Mission tile or the Autonomous Mission tile.
Step 2: Complete pre-mission checks
Complete all required pre-mission checks.
Tap Continue.
Step 3: Check for a calibration notification
On the Connectivity page, check for a compass calibration notification.

Step 4: Start compass calibration
Tap Calibrate Compass.

Step 5: Complete the calibration
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Rotate the robot vertically, then horizontally, as directed.

Step 6: Confirm successful calibration
Check the screen for a message confirming the calibration was successful.
Tap Close Calibration to return to the Connectivity page.

Step 7: Continue the mission workflow
Proceed with the remaining Mission Workflow steps. Refer to the Mapping, Pilot Assist, or Autonomous Mission section for more information.

Outcome
After completing these steps, the drone compass is calibrated and you can continue with the Mission Workflow.
