Commander uses your Emesent account credentials (same as Aura) and is designed for long-term offline use. Once signed in, it works fully offline with minimal connectivity needs.

Understanding Your Login Options
Standard Login
Your primary method of accessing Commander. Log in with your Emesent credentials to receive 180 days of offline operation. This extended session ensures you can work in remote locations for months without needing internet access.
Temporary Access
An emergency fallback option when you're unable to log in. This provides 14 days of operation without requiring credentials or internet connectivity, keeping your missions on track even in the most disconnected environments.

Network Connection
- Connect your tablet to the internet (not your scanner's Wi-Fi)
- Internet access is only required for the login

What Happens After Login
Once you've successfully logged in:
- Commander returns to the Mission Select screen
- You can disconnect from the internet immediately
- Connect to your scanner's Wi-Fi to begin operations
- Your 180-day session begins, allowing full offline functionality
Managing Your Session
Checking Time Remaining You can monitor how much time is left in your session at any time:
- Open the hamburger menu on the left side of the main toolbar
- Look at the bottom of the options menu next to the Logout button
- A countdown displays the days remaining in your current session
Session Expiry Notifications Commander proactively keeps you informed:
- In-app notifications appear as your expiry date approaches
- Reminders give you plenty of time to plan internet access
- Helps you avoid unexpected downtime in the field
- The 14-day Temporary Access fallback remains available if needed
Refreshing Your Session To refresh your login session:
- Connect your tablet to the internet (every ~6 months)
- Your session refreshes automatically
What if I don’t have a login?
Option 1: Contact your internal license administrator
Reach out to your organization's designated license manager. They can grant access through Emesent User Management.
Option 2: Contact Emesent Client Support
Contact Emesent using the Nominate an Emesent User Management Admin Form form if you cannot locate your local administrator.
