GX1 Control Panel lights and states

The GX1 Control Panel shows device state through the power button light, the four-segment LED bar, and three status icons. The status indicator ring on the body carries the same colour language for mission and system state. This article lists the colour and pattern each element shows in every state.

Commander remains the primary operator interface. These lights are the on-device confirmation of the same state.

Colours and patterns

The GX1 uses these colours. Cyan is the healthy or active colour, stone marks booting, and pure red marks an error or critical condition.

Colour

Hex

Use

Cyan

#03E1FF

Healthy, ready, or active.

Stone (white)

#E8E9E6

Booting and software update. The power button uses a tuned teal (#64E8E6) that reads as stone on that LED.

Pure red

#F50000

Error or critical condition.

Orange

Not specified

Power button during powering on and off. Firmware-controlled and outside the Cortex LED map.

Off

None

Element inactive.

Each behaviour is a combination of colour and pattern:

  • Solid: steady, no animation.

  • Breathe: smooth fade up and down over 4 s.

  • Wipe: the colour sweeps along the element as a moving chase.

  • Flashing: on and off.

  • Fast blink: on and off over 0.5 s.

  • Medium blink: on and off over 1 s.

State reference

Each row is a device or mission state. Each column is a Control Panel element or the status indicator ring.

  • N/A means the element is not driven by this state. It may still show another status from its own condition, for example battery level, Wi-Fi health, or USB activity.

  • Off means the element is inactive in that state.

The LED bar always shows remaining battery in cyan whenever the unit is on, filling in 10 % steps. The power button stays solid cyan for every state from ready onward, so it does not change through the mission phases.

Power button

The power button is the only button on the Control Panel.

  • Press the button during a mission to stop the mission.

  • Hold the button for 3 s while off to power the unit on. The unit then enters the booting state.

  • Hold the button for 3 s while on to power the unit off. The LED bar clears one by one from right to left, then the unit enters low-power standby.

Power-on and power-off are handled in firmware. The power button shows orange during these holds, which is outside the Cortex LED map.

On the GX1 the power button does not start a mission. Start a mission from the app or frontend. This differs from older Hovermap hardware, where the button starts a mission.

Unverified behaviour

The following behaviours are firmware-controlled or carried over from earlier documentation, and are not present in the current Cortex LED map. Confirm them against firmware before publishing.

  • The power button orange during powering on, powering off, and while off with a battery installed.

  • Boot failure showing solid red on the status indicator ring.

  • Understand GX1 error states

  • GX1 status indicator ring

  • GX1 sounds

  • GX1 components and interfaces

  • Power GX1 on and off
