Release date: 30 March 2026
Version: 4.1.3
Always check the Supported Devices page before updating to ensure compatibility.
Overview
This release addresses a critical SLAM stability issue that could cause loss of positioning during autonomous flight, along with two additional fixes affecting data recording and SSD fault handling.
All users operating on any previous version of Cortex are strongly advised to update to Cortex 4.1.3 immediately.
Resolved issues
Resolved an issue where the system could become unresponsive or unstable during operation if internal storage experienced delays.
Resolved an issue where high system load during scan start-up could cause data recording to stop unexpectedly without notifying the operator. Scans affected by this issue may have appeared to start normally in Commander but would contain incomplete or no captured data.
Updated payload firmware to resolve an encoder timing synchronization issue that could degrade SLAM stability and reduce scan accuracy.
Fixed an issue where the system could not fly using GPS as a navigation source on older Freefly Astro firmware (versions before 2.0.0).
