This article explains how to capture a GX1 scan with PPK Georeferencing enabled. Use this procedure to ensure RINEX data is logged and all required files are offloaded correctly before moving to the RINEX file processing step.
For Hovermap, see Capture a Hovermap scan with PPK georeferencing.
Prerequisites
GX1 powered on and connected to Commander
Android mobile device with Commander 2.3 or later installed
Aura 2.2 or later with the RTK / PPK module active
Procedure
Step 1: Connect the GX1 to Commander
Power on the GX1.
Connect the GX1 to Commander.
Step 2: Set up base corrections (optional)
If using a local base station, position a supported GNSS receiver over a known point at or near the site and start RINEX logging before beginning the scan.
If using a GNSS correction network instead, no field setup is required. Note the scan start and end time in UTC, and the correction site or mountpoint used, so you can download the correct base observation files from your network provider after the mission.
GNSS correction networks that do not provide a navigation file are not currently supported.
Step 3: Start the scan with PPK enabled
Navigate to the new mission setup in Commander.
In GNSS Settings, enable PPK Logging RINEX. The integrated GNSS receiver logs RINEX data automatically for the duration of the scan.
Start the scan and complete the capture.
A single continuous RINEX log can cover multiple scans for the same job. There is no need to stop and restart between scans.
Step 4: Offload data
Stop the scan in Commander.
Offload the scan data. RINEX data is included in the offloaded scan data automatically.
If a local base station was used, offload the base station RINEX data.
Outcome
After completing these steps, your GX1 scan data and RINEX log files are ready for the next step of the PPK Georeferencing workflow.
Next steps
Process your RINEX files in Emlid Studio to generate the trajectory file needed for Aura processing.
See PPK Georeferencing FAQ for common questions about the PPK workflow.
