# Freefly (Astro)

This section shows how to use Hovermap on the Freefly Astro and Astro Max drones for aerial scans. The Astro supports Hovermap ST-X. The Astro Max supports Hovermap ST and ST-X.

Emesent Commander operates on the Freefly Pilot Pro tablet and connects to Hovermap through the Pilot Pro controller. For the supported software and firmware versions, see [Supported devices and compatibility](/v1/docs/supported-devices-compatibility).

## Setup

Start with the [Freefly Astro and Astro Max setup guide](/v1/docs/freefly). This guide gives the pre-flight checklist and the Astro parameters. Then do these procedures in this sequence:

1. [Mount the Hovermap on the Freefly Astro](/v1/docs/set-up-1): Install the dovetail mount and Hovermap on the drone.
2. [Installing Commander on Freefly Pilot Pro tablet](/v1/docs/installing-commander-on-freefly-pilot-pro-tablet): Install Emesent Commander on the Pilot Pro tablet.
3. [Setup Hovermap and Freefly Astro for basic operations](/v1/docs/setup-hovermap-and-freefly-astro-for-basic-operations): Connect Commander to Hovermap and do the initialization scan.
